6 Weeks In Italy

Italy has a rich heritage in art, history, cuisine, architecture and fashion.

Milan was the first place I had ever travelled abroad for modelling. I consider myself an ambivert, so meeting all sorts of individuals and exploring the city solo, the experience is unforgettable.

Models have a good amount of spare time during the day for other activities, so I planned my days around castings and shoots.

I enjoyed cappuccinos in the morning and gelato in the afternoons. I almost had it every day. Gelato hits differently in Italy!

During Milanese summer, I struggled with the unbearable heat. As a Canadian, I still can't fully tolerate the cold weather, and as a Punjabi, I can't handle the heat. I find that funny.

I had the chance to meet my cousins from Italy. My aunt has been here for almost two decades, and the last time I saw her, I was a little girl in India.

They took me to Lago Di Garda, the largest lake in Italy. It is a popular holiday location in northern Italy, between Brescia and Milan to the west. I was amazed by the stunning scenery, as you can see in my photographs below.

The Duomo's construction process has lasted almost six centuries. The construction started in 1386, supported by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, ruler of Milan at the time. The Duomo is the only church in the world that lets you climb to the actual roof and walk over the entire rooftop.

Guy Bourdin: Storyteller Exhibition at Armani/Silos.

Armani/Silos is a place founded by Giorgio Armani, a destination dominating the city map as a place to go for those who appreciate art and beauty.

Guy Bourdin is a French artist and a fashion photographer. I wish I could have worked with him in this lifetime.

Upon reaching this photograph in the exhibit, I gasped with excitement as it had been a favourite of mine for months; however, I was unaware of the photographer's name at the time. Seeing it instantly brought a smile to my face.

Milan is known for its fashion, so explore designer items on display even if not purchasing.
